Families of the disappeared protest with tribute to father who died searching for abducted son

Tamil families of the disappeared in Vavuniya, held a demonstration and paid tribute to the a Tamil father, who died after spending more than a decade searching for his forcibly disappeared son.

The protestors carried placards and banners bearing the image of 71-year-old Sinnachami Nallathambi, who spent over ten years protesting for truth and accountability surrounding his son’s abduction.
The demonstration marked over 1200 days of protest by relative of missing persons. and was held at 11:30 am yesterday, in front of the Vavuniya Road Development Department.
Nallathambi has been searching for his son for over 10 years, ever since he was abducted by individuals in a white van, near the Vavuniya court.
Just days ago, Nallathambi protested in a protest with the families of the disappeared and his death adds to the dozens of Tamil families of the disappeared that have campaigned for truth and accountability but have died without being able to do so.
