'It's not connected to reality': John Bolton blasts Donald Trump's claims he didn't know Russia put a bounty on US troops while Nancy Pelosi suggests he 'ignored' the reports because Moscow 'has something on him'

  • John Bolton claimed Donald Trump denying that he knew Russia paid the Taliban to kill U.S. troops is 'just another day at the office in the Trump White House'
  • 'There's a lot we don't know so we should be cautious,' the former national security adviser warned
  • House Speaker Nancy Pelosi also said Trump's denial is 'as bad as it gets'
  • The president insisted 'nobody told him' that Russia had reportedly offered bounties to Taliban-linked militants if they killed U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan
  • Comments follow a report from The New York Times that he was briefed in March about the apparent Moscow bounty plot
  • Trump added that 'nobody has been tougher on Russia' than his administration, claiming Russia had a 'field day' during Obama's presidency
