The world’s population is set to shrink at a rapid rate after the first half of this century, with huge implications for many countries in the developed world.
The populations of dozens of nations, including Japan, Spain and Italy, are set to halve by 2100, with an equally dramatic fall in the working age population.
That will have profound implications for issues like migration and economic growth.
