Vavuniya locals protest over shortage of doctors

A demonstration over the shortage of doctors was held outside Vavuniya Chettikulam Base hospital yesterday.

Protesters held placards which called for patient hostels to be reopened and stated that there were currently more patients than doctors in the hospital.

Parliamentarian, K Dileepan attended the demonstration and told the protesters that he would inform the President of the issue and take measures to resolve the issue. Former member of the Provincial Council, S Mayuran and members of the Chettikulam Pradeshiya Sabha were also present at the demonstration.
