Sri Lankan police officers have reportedly removed portraits of assassinated journalists that had been placed at the anti-government protest site at Galle Face in Colombo.

The removal reportedly took place yesterday, with photographs showing the journalists’ portraits removed and placed on the floor.
They had initially been placed there as part of the protest, to highlight the lack of accountability for the murder of press workers in Sri Lanka.
The removal took place the day before the 17th anniversary of the killing of former TamilNet editor D Sivaram.
